The science of the principles of jurisprudence is one of the fruitful branches of knowledge that has been fruitful in the garden of Islamic knowledge. The purpose of establishing this science is to obtain the general principles related to the derivation of Shariah rulings from relevant sources. Understanding the development and evolution of this science is the key to understanding Sharia and the mechanism of the legal-legal system of the Islamic Ummah. Therefore, in the present research, the history of basic science has been examined in four stages of foundation, expansion and deepening, period and contemporary era. An effort has been made to re-identify the central figures of each period and to briefly introduce the fundamental works of the era and to explain the fundamental hot topics of each period. According to the findings of this research, Sheikh Mofid, Sheikh Tousi and Vahid Behbahani are key figures in the evolution of the science of principles.
