Abstract

Slander, as one of the major sins in Islamic jurisprudence and an immoral behavior in the field of ethics, has always been the focus of religious scholars and moral thinkers. This phenomenon not only harms the reputation of individuals, but also weakens social relations and causes widespread tensions in society. Considering the harmful individual and social consequences of slander, examining the jurisprudential ruling and its moral consequences is of great importance. This research, using an analytical-descriptive method and citing jurisprudential and moral texts and sources, has examined the jurisprudential ruling on slander and its moral consequences. The findings of the research show that slander is forbidden from a jurisprudential perspective and is subject to worldly and heretical punishment, and from a moral perspective it is also known as an undesirable and destructive act that has harmful individual and social consequences. Strategies for preventing slander can be suggested by strengthening individual faith and piety and teaching morality at different levels of society to combat this behavior.
